For Zeliscar, the offline guide to herbs and plants
Zeliscar collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and nothing to buy; the app requests no Android permissions and never opens a network connection. What you read, search for and bookmark stays on your handset.
Zeliscar shares traditional, cultural and culinary information for interest only. It is not medical advice, contains no treatments or dosages, and must not be used to diagnose or treat anything. For health matters, speak to a doctor or pharmacist — and never eat or apply a wild plant on the strength of an app.
Zeliscar is made and published by AM Skufca d.o.o., a company registered in Slovenia, which releases its apps under the name LumenBirch Interactive. Under the General Data Protection Regulation and Slovenia's Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2), that company would be the controller for any personal data the app processed. It processes none, so the role has nothing attached to it.

Searches about plants sit closer to health than they look. A list of what somebody has been reading about, kept over weeks, is the kind of record that should not exist casually — and in an app that also lets you bookmark, it would be a small, very personal file about somebody's worries and habits.
So none of it is kept. No page view is counted, no reading time is measured, nothing typed into the search box is stored or transmitted, and there is no history screen because there is no history. Your bookmarks are a list of plants you liked the look of, held on your own phone, and nothing more is inferred from them by anyone.
A single small file in the app's private storage, holding only what you chose to keep:
Nothing in it identifies you: no name, email address, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier or device identifier. The file never leaves the phone and we never see it.
A guide to plants has an obvious reason to want your location — what grows nearby, what is in season around you. Zeliscar does not ask: it requests no location permission, derives no position from the network, and has no idea where it is being read. Where an entry mentions habitat, it describes the kind of place a plant is found, not the place you happen to be standing in.
Plant apps commonly offer to identify a specimen from a photograph, which means a camera permission and, almost always, an upload to somebody's server. Zeliscar has neither. It cannot photograph anything, it cannot identify anything, and it will never tell you that the plant in your hand is safe — because a book and a phone are both the wrong tool for that judgement.
Every plant page in Slovenian and English, the images, the search index, the cards and the glossary are compiled into the app. Nothing is fetched while you read, no entry loads on demand, and the plant of the day is chosen on the device — which is why the app behaves the same on a hillside with no signal as it does at home.
No advertising library, so nothing interrupts an entry and no advertising profile is built from what you read — which matters more here than in most apps, since plant interests are easily mistaken for health interests by an ad network. No analytics library and no crash reporter, so no usage events, session logs or crash traces leave the handset. No billing library, so no plant, category or glossary section sits behind a price, and no payment data exists. No account, no sync, no sharing of your collection with anyone.
Zeliscar requests no Android runtime permissions: not camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notifications.
None. The app opens no connection to our servers or to anyone else's, so nothing leaves the handset to be intercepted and nothing arrives that could change its behaviour after installation.
Installing or updating Zeliscar is a transaction between you and Google, handled under Google's own privacy policy and its agreement with you. What reaches us is the aggregated, anonymous developer console view — installs, ratings, country totals — which identifies nobody.
If a future version ever touches the network, this page is rewritten before that version is published and the change stated plainly.
The guide is suitable for a general audience and contains no medical content. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children, and there are no adverts, no chat, no sharing, no links out and nothing to buy. The warning above applies with particular force to younger readers: no plant should be picked, eaten or applied on the strength of an app.
The General Data Protection Regulation and ZVOP-2 give you the right to ask whether your personal data is processed, obtain a copy, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Every one of those needs data in our hands, and there is none — we will confirm that in writing if it is useful for your records.
Your bookmarks are removed by clearing them in the app, clearing the app's data in Android settings, or uninstalling Zeliscar. No copy survives anywhere else, because none was ever made.
Complaints may be addressed to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si) or to the supervisory authority where you live, though a note to us usually settles things sooner.
This page is updated only when the app changes in a way that affects privacy, and the date near the top changes with it. Builds already installed keep behaving exactly as described.
